In 1985 Sun Beam Group firstly established Sun Beam Metal Industrial Co., Ltd. at Youn-Ann Industrial Park of Taiwan Kaohsiung County, providing hot-dip zinc coating service for the screw and nut manufacturers.
Since the quality of service has been generally satisfactory to the whole industry, Sun Beam has got a market share of above 70%. Its particularly excellent quality makes Sun Beam become eminent in this industry.
In order to expand the size of the business for marching to internationalization, Sun Beam Group established Jiuh Yang Metal Industrial Sdn. Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia in 1990, primarily engaging in the hot-dip zinc coating service of screw, nut, washer and steel structure. Especially on the items of screw, nut and washer, Jiuh Yang has got a market share of above 90% in Malaysia . Next year Sun Beam Group invested on the establishment of a hot-dip zinc-coated stranded wire plant in Malaysia , giving an annual output of above 60,000 tons. In view of a large number of the byproduct of zinc dross produced by various companies of the Group every month, and in order to solve the environmental protection problem for future development of high value-added product, Sun Beam Group invested an amount of NT$80 million on the establishment of Sun Beam Tech Industrial Co., Ltd. in Youn-Ann Industrial Park in 1998. This company uses the zinc dross or pure zinc ingots created by hot-dip zinc coating, as the material to produce zinc oxide and recycling zinc ingot so as to supply these products to local and foreign copper manufacturers, as well as the industries of passive electronic elements, ceramics, glaze, shoemaking, paint making, etc. Currently Sun Beam is the largest professional producer of zinc oxide in Taiwan. In May 2005 the construction of the third production line of recycling zinc ingot and the third production line of zinc oxide was completed, resulting in the monthly output of recycling zinc ingot and zinc oxide being above 1,800 tons and 1,600 tons respectively, and making Sun Beam become the largest zinc oxide producer in Southeast Asia. In 2002 the company won The 5 th Rising Star Award given by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. No matter on marketing, market exploration, production management, R&D management and human resources management, Sun Beam achieved praises extensively.
